  • 1929.07.02 - 2021.10.11

My dear husband James

He was born in Hamilton. The third child of five. The father was a dentist and had his surgery there. Later on they moved to Burnbank not far from Hamilton were he was brought up. All the stories he has told through the years is telling what an adventurer he was. Under the age of 10 he tried to convice his older sister to jump down from the window with an umbrella. She wouldn´t do, but he did! During the second world war II the children contributed by collecting aluminium so that the fabric could build aeroplanes. He tried to follow in his father footsteps and began the education to dentist but he left it after one year. He took on a auditor education . But what he LOVED MOST was his job as a salesmen. To get the costumer on his side without forcing him or her was the thrill. For a while he was a manager for the salesmen (reps) But selling was more challenging. At the mid 19 century the Irishmen came over to Scotland because of the famine. One of them his great grandfather James Mc Laughlin from Londonderry Nothern Ireland, Brother Walfrid started the soup kitchen was set upto help the poor Irishmen. His grandfather, a businessman reazlized money had to come in so they could continue to help the poor. He was not a footballer but knew what had to be done so they workedtogether with Brother Walfrid Not a footballer but a businessman, he worked togheter with Brother Walfrid to found a footbal club realizing it was needed. At one border meeting in may 1885 he stated: You could as well try to stop the professional football as to stop the Niagara falls with an kitchen stool. Three years later Celtic fooball club was founded and John Herbert was the first chairman of the football club. Jimmy heart was beating for Celtic FC til the end. Every match he could take part of over either the net or TV he wouldn´t miss!!! IIn later years before he came to Sweden he helped out at Sill street in Liverpool were The missionary of charity (Mother Teresa) had a house. They helped the outs and downs and for I while one of his nieces was working there. He went on to Paris to help the brothers there for a few episodes. And so he came to sweden and Stockholm. We met at the brothers weekly prayer meeting. I had brought a friend with me and held a piece of loaf in the hand for the suop after prayer So, so many times through his life he said: Maggis, it is biblical. It is biblical. He never forgot it! Not much later he left his country, his friends, and his relatives. To settle with me for the rest of his days. His friendship:His support in everything His love and concern for me was proufondly deep. I am blessed.
